Top Three Causes of Snoring

For many people, bedtime is the only portion of the day when we will be able to rest and simply sleep away the whole stress and worries for the following day. However, when you have someone beside you who snores, it suddenly becomes impossible for you to get a decent sleep.

Snoring is so common and one cannot possibly imagine that someone who snores might actually have some underlying health conditions that require attention. Snoring might be the consequence of a wide range of factors and the best method to completely get rid of it can be primarily to address the reasons behind the problem.

Here are the most notable three causes for snoring that can help you become more knowledgeable on the way to appropriately address this issue:

1. Nasal congestion is amongst the top factors behind snoring. Sinusitis or the inflammation on the sinuses or the nasal passages can cause nasal congestion because there is an obstruction to the flow of air both in breathing in. Individuals who have chronic allergies are inclined to frequently have problems with nasal congestion which actually, causes them to snore. Sometimes, folks who suffer from chronic congestion are often experiencing physical abnormality for instance, a deviated septum which also causes obstruction of nasal passages.

2. Obesity, according to studies is also highly correlated with snoring. When a person is overweight, ultimately that excess fats are deposited in a number of areas of the body. When fatty tissues are deposited in your neck area it obstructs the passageway of air flow; snoring then takes place when the oxygen that passes through your nasal cavities struggles and forces its way in or out.

3. Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking are usually involved in the top causes of snoring in a way that every one of these three could also create the obstruction of airflow within the nasal passage. Research found out that smokers tend to have high incidence of snoring when compared with non-smokers. The mucous membranes within the nasal passage becomes irritated when smoke is inhaled by the person (either by the smoker or perhaps the passive smokers), this then causes them to swell and turn into inflamed which again, blocks the airways and cause snoring. Alcohol on the other hand, relaxes the muscles if you are under its influence thus, the back of your throat actually starts to collapse and the air is obstructed. It has been known that alcohol causes congestion and being mentioned earlier, congestion causes snoring. Drugs for instance, antihistamine for nasal congestion has got the same effect as that of alcohol so that if this relaxes the muscles, the air flow is also obstructed.
